AnimeBelle Social Networking Tools

While the Community Research Poll is still nearly a month from closing, already the responses have been very interesting!  Two thirds of the responses have said that they would be interested in using AnimeBelle as a content-specific and region-specific social network, while only one third feels that they satisfy this need already with other websites.  I've decided to look into the implementation of social networking tools here on AnimeBelle, and I want your input in the form of comments!

What sort of functions are most important to you?  Friend lists?  The ability to form groups?  Facebook-style status walls?  Private messaging?  User created galleries?  Are there other functions you would like to see?  To make your opinion known, place a comment on this thread!  Y'all come on back now, y'hear?
